退蔵院 観月茶会

At Myoshinji subtemple Taizo-in, a reserved tea gathering moves from formal tea service to a meal with live Japanese music, then into a lit garden for moon viewing. The tea room “Kakoi no seki” also opens, giving the evening a closer look at the place behind the ritual.
Follow the planned route from tea service to music-backed meal and lit strolling garden, where the moon is an invitation rather than a guarantee.
At Myoshinji subtemple Taizo-in, the evening starts with a formal tea service rather than at the garden edge. The tea room “Kakoi no seki” is also opened to visitors 🍵.
That order gives the gathering a clear first step. You notice the tea setting before the garden lights draw your attention outward.
The public opening of Kakoi no seki adds a second way to experience the tea setting. Instead of only receiving tea, you can see the named tea room as part of the event’s route.
Then the focus moves outward: Yoko-en (余香苑), a strolling garden, is lit for garden viewing. The shift from a small tea space to a garden designed to be walked through makes the programme feel like a sequence of places, not one room with decorations.
After tea, the schedule places the meal at Daikyū-an with live Japanese music 🎶. The performance sits alongside the food, keeping the middle of the evening connected to the temple setting.
Because the meal comes between tea and the garden, it acts as the programme’s middle chapter. Food gives the evening a pause, while the music keeps it moving toward the moon-viewing visit.
After the meal, guests head to Yoko-en to look for the moon. The garden lighting gives this final stop its own visual focus, while the moon remains dependent on the weather.
Rain may prevent moon viewing, so this isn’t a guaranteed celestial show. The tea, meal, Japanese music and lit garden still give the visit a complete shape if clouds cover the moon ☔.
This gathering will suit visitors who want a paced, place-based cultural evening. It especially rewards people who’d rather follow tea, meal, music and garden viewing than treat moon viewing as a quick photo stop.
The event information frames it as a compact two-day run with a single scheduled occurrence, not a repeating daily programme. It’s a paid, reservation-only experience, with booking required for the tea service, meal and garden viewing at least two days in advance; JR Hanazono Station is about a seven-minute walk, and nearby Myoshinji bus stops are about five minutes away.

Recurring observations for this place, not event-wide attendance or live crowd levels.
Tap or hover over a bar to read its value, or use the left and right arrow keys. A dash means no observation; an empty circle means an observed zero.
Repeated observations for the same weekday and hour use the maximum (max), not an average or a prediction.
No observation is not zero. Missing hours do not mean the place is quiet or closed.
These are the observations in the current public response, not the full collection history.
