A place story by Momo
About this place
24 hours a day, every single day!? 😳 Munakata Shrine is open from 0:00 to 24:00 every day, so you can stop by without worrying about the time. Night owl or early bird, the timing is entirely up to you.
This large Shinto shrine enshrines three deities and sits at 2331 Tashima, Munakata, Fukuoka. Inside the temple grounds, the approach (the path leading to a shrine or temple) runs toward a sacred ritual site. The walk along it is one of the sights here in its own right, I'd say 🤔
So here's your one thing to do: step onto the approach and see for yourself what scenery awaits 🙌
Walking the Approach
The approach leads toward the sacred ritual site, so give the walk its time. Set a relaxed pace and see what's ahead as you go 🚶
Open 24 Hours a Day
It's open every day from 0:00 to 24:00, so you can drop by whenever the idea hits you. As of October 5, 2026, it isn't closed for good or for a while 😊
