234 meters tall, and Japan’s tallest seaside tower!? That’s quite a number 😲 Head to the highest observation deck, 123 meters above ground, for a 360° view across Fukuoka’s city and bay. Want both in one sweeping look? The deck is the place to aim for.
Fukuoka Tower was built as a monument for the 1989 Ajia Taiheiyo Hakurankai, “Yokatopia,” and as a symbol of Fukuoka City’s 100th anniversary. Its nickname, “Mirror Sail,” was chosen through a public call for ideas ⛵ After the exposition, the tower continued as a visitor attraction centered on its observation rooms.
Sunset is the busiest time at the 123-meter deck 🌆 There’s also an observation deck, dining, and a lounge. Coming by Nishitetsu Bus? Get off at Fukuoka Tower or Fukuoka Tower Minamiguchi, then head for the landmark reaching into the sky.
