80,000 tons of spring water a day from one park!? That’s a huge flow 😮 Fukidashi park is built around the area where Mt. Yotei’s underground water emerges, and there’s a dedicated space for collecting it. Some visitors fill containers at the spring and take the water home 🫙
Waterfalls and a stream give you plenty to look at along the wooden paths and viewing decks. There’s also a wooden bridge, a play area, and a shop, so you can keep exploring beyond the spring itself. And don’t miss the viewpoint for Mt. Yotei—after a walk by the water, turn your attention toward the mountain 🌊
This spring water is used for everything from local municipal water supplies to bottled mineral water. Yotei no Fukidashi Yusui was selected for Japan’s 100 Remarkable Waters in 1985, and Kyogoku no Fukidashi Yusui was named a Hokkaido Heritage site in 2001 🏅 Fukidashi park sits next to Michi-no-Eki Meisui-no-Sato Kyogoku, making it easy to pair the two stops.
